McDonough Baptist Tabernacle is an Independent, Fundamental, Bible-believing Baptist Church. We use the King James Bible. She was established in 1971 and is located in beautiful McDonough, Georgia. Located in Henry County, MBT is approximately 30 miles south and east of Atlanta. A small group of believers asked the Lord for a shepherd, one that would help a great work in a small town called McDonough. The Lord gave us Pastor & Mrs. James West in October of 1971. The work was then named McDonough Baptist Tabernacle.
Immediately, the Lord began to bless, the work grew. While we met in homes, the Lord opened the door for us to meet in the American Legion Building on Spring Street. Then, the Lord gave us 2 acres on Wellington Drive. We moved into our first church building in 1973, which Pastor West and the men of the church sacrificed their time to build.
The blessings fell from heaven as we saw hundreds saved through the outreach of our ministries: Sunday School, bus ministry, children's church, radio, missions and nursing home. In May 1994, God richly blessed us with our present facilities. To God be the Glory, Great Things He Hath Done! We look forward to what the Lord has in store as we serve Him together!
